This year Mackenzie Community School will be 10 years old, therefore the Community together with the teachers and children of the Community School will be celebrating the 10 years of being in operation from the time it was built 2000 to 2010.
The school has expanded from grade 1 to grade 4 and from one classroom block to four classroom blocks. Furthermore, the number of teachers has increased from one to four teachers over a period of ten years.
This has been made possible through the hard work of volunteers from different organizations, who have worked so hard throughout all these years for the school to reach this stage, where more than 150 children are getting educated compared to 10 children when it just started. With the new classroom completed beginning of this year we are hoping to have a grade five class. Our target is for the Community School to reach grade 7, for this is the only way many children will be able to have an opportunity to have basic education if they are to have hope for their future.
Therefore, to all our working partners and volunteers who have sacrificed their time and resources to see this wonderful project through, thank you for your hard work and love for humanity. Please if possible, come back and see the seed you planted now bearing fruit.
