iChange's charitable purpose focuses on the provision of relationship-driven, sustainable and community-based development aid, which is delivered via projects and activities, in particular in the areas of education, health and empowerment.

In its work, iChange explicitly strives to avoid generating economic or other dependencies between its local participants and beneficiaries on the one hand and iChange as an organization on the other hand. The organization achieves this objective via a relationship of equals with the local community and its members as well as via cooperating with other local organizations which pursue strategic objectives similar to those of the organization. The ultimate goal of the organization's project work is the empowerment of its participants to enable them to successfully sustain themselves and their families, as well as make a positive and meaningful contribution to their community.

Currently iChange is mainly active in two communities within Ndola, the third largest city of Zambia. The communities Mackenzie & Twapia belong to the biggest and poorest settlements in Ndola.
